Medical device professionals may be among the hardest-working individuals in America. MD+DI’s Medtech Salara Survey shows that medtech professionals are working at an average of 43.4 hours per week, compared to the Department of Labor Statistics analysis that shows nonfarm workers work about 34.3 hours a week. This means that medtech professionals are working 26.5% more than the national average for nonfarm workers.
Out of all professions presented in the survey, those in general management had the largest average of hours worked each week (48.2). Research and development employees had the lowest average, working approximately 41.6 hours per week.
The only non-farming profession that surpasses medtech in hours worked is mining and logging, clocking in at an average of about 44.5 hours a week, according to the Department of Labor Statistics data.
